"Veloria: The Knot of Candle" is a new type of horror puzzle game that evolves with the times, integrating puzzles, level design, visuals, and music into a seamless experience. It confronts the brutal reality of mental illness, intertwining psychological depth with horror elements, depicting a desperate struggle for survival in darkness and despair, and exploring the true nature of appearance and inner self.

Story Summary

Players take on the role of Vellaria, a young girl suffering from severe mental illness, as she searches for the truth and seeks redemption within the nightmarish memories of her childhood. The game consists of six chapters, each telling a dark and tragic story through the experiences of six different "people." With a breathtaking narrative, the shocking truth will be unveiled by your own hands.

Vellaria awakens in front of a gloomy orphanage. Burnt ashes dance in the air, uncovering long-buried secrets— the real orphanage was consumed by fire many years ago in a tragic accident. What lingers here is nothing but a strange world pieced together from fragments of memory. To seek the truth, she pushes open the door to this eerie world. A strange darkness engulfs everything within the building, and only the dim light of candles can reveal the path beneath her feet…

Character Descriptions

"This is You" — Veloria A timid and introverted girl who dislikes social interaction. She has a kind heart and is extremely persistent when it comes to things she deems necessary. Due to her struggle with expressing herself, she often appears emotionless.

"This is You as a Child" — Veloria

Ethan Soft-spoken like a girl, yet lively and passionate, capable of warming others with his presence. As a child, his maturity led him to become Vellaria’s closest friend, relying on her deeply. He enjoys savoring the amber candy Vellaria gave him, letting its sourness erode his teeth until the taste of rust—like Vellaria’s hair—seeps through.

Ayla Born with severe brittle bone disease, she is paralyzed from the waist down and confined to bed. Always wearing a gentle smile, she rarely shows any strong emotions, possessing a maturity beyond her years. She treats Vellaria with exceptional kindness.

Grian The only teacher at Grace's Home, responsible for educating the children in various subjects, adored by them all. Though an adult in appearance, he retains a childlike heart, often seeming foolishly innocent. He frequently tells corny jokes to the children, though few respond—except for Vellaria.
